I am really pleased with the preparations for my first appearance at the Hay-on-Wye Book Festival, as previously confirmed I will be appearing at the Fair on the Square on Saturday 27th May from 9am – 12pm. I will be supported by Richard Shackelford from the local branch of the MND Association and his volunteers who will be fund raising on the day.
The MND Association is a charity very close to my family, after losing my brother-in-law Jeff nearly two and a half years ago. I felt very strongly that I would like to support them and by donating a percentage of the sales from every copy of My Teacher’s a Spy ! sold I hope to raise them much needed funds in their fight against Motor Neuron Disease.
MND kills 6 people in the UK every day, every penny counts to help, the MND Association was founded by volunteers in 1979 and they still rely heavily on volunteers today as they make a difference in peoples lives.
I really hope that we have nice weather and a good turnout on the morning as it would be amazing for me to present the MND Charity with a nice donation, books have been sold on Amazon and other websites but I would like to give more to such a great cause.
I am very pleased to be visiting Tuffley Primary school again on Wednesday 10th May, where I will read from My Teacher’s a Spy and then answer questions from the children.
We had a great time last year and they really enjoyed my visit, loved listening to me read from My Teacher’s a Robot and asked amazing questions.
Looking forward to seeing them again and really appreciate their support of a local author.
I am delighted to say that I will be visiting Harewood Junior School, where I will be reading to the children from my latest book My Teacher’s a Spy !, answering questions from the children and signing copies of the book.
I am especially pleased to be returning as this is where it all began, Harewood was my first ever school visit where I read from My Teacher’s a Robot!, they loved having me there and we had a great time.
I will be at Harewood on Monday 13th March, thank you to Mrs Mills who was quick to invite me back, we will be holding an assembly with the children at 9am, look forward to seeing you all again.
I am very excited to confirm that I will be appearing at the Malvern Book Cooperative on Saturday 4th March, signing copies of both books, My Teacher’s a Robot! and my new book My Teacher’s a Spy !
This lovely Independent Book Shop in Malvern will be hosting me from 11:30 – 2pm, this is a little gem of a book store, where not only can you grab the latest instalment of your favourite book but stop for a coffee and some home made cake.
I look forward to being there Saturday and with every copy of My Teacher’s a Spy ! sold donating money to the Motor Neuron Disease Charity I hope we get a good turn out.
Popped in to Waterstones today and was surprised to see My Teacher’s a Robot! on the offers table as well as on the shelf.
ThanksWaterstones, it’s great to see it still selling well and part of your plans.
I am very proud to show off the front cover of My Teacher’s a Spy ! , this is the updated front cover showing the link up with the MND Association that Austin Macauley and I are doing.
With every book that is sold, not matter if it is paperback, hardback or digital download we will be giving a percentage of the sales to the MND Charity to help them in their ongoing support of MND sufferers and their families.
We are very proud to be supporting such a good cause, the amazing people who work for them, the hundreds who volunteer and the thousands who contribute with either their time, donations or fund raising efforts.
I hope you take time to understand MND, how the Association is helping on a daily basis and how we can support them, thank you.
With the release of My Teacher’s a Spy !! not very far away I thought it worth updating you with the latest news, this book is dedicated to my late fantastic brother-in-law Jeff Hipwood who sadly lost his life to Motor Neurone Disease.
As part of this dedication I am currently in discussions with the MND Association to work together in a deal that will give a percentage of the book sales to their Charity, we are hoping this will bring in much-needed funds and also good publicity to help people understand and help with MND.
With Austin Macauley backing us, along with the MND Association we hope this will get in to the public eye and really help raise the profile of MND as well as helping them this year in their mission of helping the children of MND suffer’s.
I hope I can play my part and bring something to the table, I am very proud to dedicate my book to Jeff, he was an avid reader and would have been super proud and very supportive.
I have also agreed an interview with the Gloucester Review newspaper where the lovely Louisa Jones will be writing an article to help us further.
Watch this space as I will update you further as developments unfold.
A very nice write up in the Gloucester Review this week about my Waterstones Book Signing, nice photo as well…
You can read the report here :
Austin Macauley and I have made the executive decision to delay the publication fo My Teacher’s a Spy !! until the end of January next year, we have decided to concentrate on My Teacher’s a Robot ! and give it every opportunity to progress.
With the Waterstones Book Signing coming up this Saturday 8th October 11am – 3pm, we are hoping the publicity from that will help push the book forward, we have confirmation that The Gloucester Review newspaper will be attending on the day which also brings further exposure.
As much as I would have loved to have My Teacher’s a Spy !! out before Christmas I will will bow to the wisdom of Austin Macauley and look forward to seeing it in print early next year.
